Ready to talk to Amitabh Bachchan on Alexa?

Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, has been roped in as the first celebrity voice of Alexa in India. Amazon revealed on Monday that it would work with Amitabh Bachchan to create an exclusive interface for Indian customers. Users on any Alexa-enabled computers would have to say "Alexa, Say Hello to Mr. Amitabh Bachchan" to speak to the 77-year-old Bollywood actor.

Is Amitabh the first celebrity to lend voice for Alexa?

Though Amitabh is the first Indian celebrity to lend Alexa his voice, he is not the first celebrity to do so. Samuel L Jackson became the first celebrity voice ever to partner with Amazon in 2019. However, its version is only available to U.S. users, while Bachchan's Alexa is limited to Indian users only.

How does Alexa assure the customer's satisfaction?

In India, Alexa users can listen to popular offers such as jokes, weather, shayaris, motivational quotes, advice, and much more in Bachchan’s voice. The Amazon Alexa team will work closely with Bachchan to capture the iconic voice of Bollywood's Shehenshah and deliver customers a unique voice experience.

When will this feature be active?

The functionality will be introduced by 2021, and once rolled out, users will be able to experience their voice by asking Alexa to say hello to Amitabh Bachchan. Millions of Indian consumers are using Alexa, the voice service that powers the Echo system set. Alexa is also available with Alexa Voice Control, Fire TV Version, the Online Alexa app, and the Amazon shopping app on the Fire TV Stick.

“This blend offers a perfect message for additional enjoyment and simplifies our consumers' lives. We're extremely excited to see how our customers react when they're using Alexa and listening to his voice, "said Puneesh Kumar, Amazon India's country leader for Alexa.
